I like all the hype surrounding Web2.0. Let's see - some of the most touted features are: interactivity, you enter a value in a field and the page can adjust it's display based on that without needing to refresh the entire page - something most real programs could to in 1983; and social collaboration - Technorati, del.iciou.us and things like that.
The social collaboration seems to be more about imagining yourself as being a well-known icon, when you are really doing little more than talking to yourself, or Masterblogging regualrly. I've heard it can make you go blind. Hurts little kittens.
"a Graphics Designer in London" writes about Technorati that it's dificult to understand or get to work properly. I haven't had quite so many problems, but then I haven't tried to do much with it. I think that if it really works for you, you're pretty much in the "need to get a life" set. Same goes for Del.iciou.us. And, that one realy tweaks me. I understand the concept, but, come on. Form is important. If function were the only thing that counted, the world would come in any color as long as it were black. Again, it seems to be more for those for whom life outside the Internet does not exist.
